The Busy Little Squirrel by Nancy Tafuri

Image
Follow squirrel as he zips round the farm getting ready for winter... While we have a full size copy of this, I can see why they also sell it as a board book, as it has that feel. It's really a charming little title with bright, cheerful illustrations, and a cute ending. A sweet read and perfect for short attention spans. Recommend!

Little Fur Family by Margaret Wise Brown

So... I fully know it's heretical in some circles, but I can cheerfully admit I'm not always the biggest fan of Margaret Wise Brown. And I may, may even slowly be coming round to start thinking about appreciating a certain astronomical rhyming bedtime book on which I've had strong feelings for years. ;-)) But we're here to talk about Little Fur Family, which is also a classic, and charming, and wistfully, enchantingly sweet. (I honestly don't know why I was surprised,...

Babies by Gyo Fujikawa

Reminding me a lot of Eloise Wilkins illustrating style, this was a lovely gift from a friend when Princess E was born and one she likes pulling out often and a lot. It's so sweet and just all around charming. (Also delightfully reinforces the importance of EVERYONE -- old and young -- hugging, cuddling, and loving the little ones. ;)) A great baby shower gift. We love having it in our collection!
